Precision Vibratory Finishing

The precision finishing is a mechanical-chemical technique for surface finishing, especially of metallic workpieces. The grinding tools have a size of 1 up to 12 mm and different shapes. The concentration of grinding and polishing minerals defines their aggressiveness (and the wear) as well as the accessible surface smoothness of the workpieces.

The method is predistined for deburring, grinding, smoothing or polishing surfaces efficiently and precisely within a short time. It helps to shorten the process of the assembly and to reduce cost of production. Moreover, the process indicates a constant processing quality with a high performance.

Examples

nibs, clips or mine guide, parts of glasses frames or materials from titanium, fine blanking and fine mechanical parts from metal, plastics or ceramics, swivel, milled and punching parts of several applications

Technology

Usually, finishing is a discontinuous technique. The grinding tools, made from ceramics or plastics, are put together with the workpieces into the machine. A tenside solution (compound) is combined with water for absorbing and removing the evolving abrasion of the grinding tools and the removal of the workpieces. Most of the compounds contain additional agents for corrosion protection and for degreasing. For etching works, acidic compounds can be used.
